Holiday Tasting Party

Just as a reminder, our Holiday Tasting Party will be held Wednesday, December 18th. We will be celebrating with the foods your child wrote about as their Writing of the Week assignment.

Children only need to bring in one batch of their recipe. If you are cooking things like pies, cakes, etc. cutting the food into slices would be helpful. (As many slices as you would normally cut, I will take care of slicing into smaller pieces if necessary.) Serving utensils (if necessary) are appreciated!

Food can be sent in with your child in the morning, or if you have a dish that needs to be served warm, you may drop it off in the main office between 12:00-12:50.

Being as our party will be during our scheduled lunchtime, many of the children will have had their share of food (including snack in the morning!); so it not necessary to pack a lunch that day. As all of the recipes were sent to me ahead of time, I have checked that there are a few different foods that children with various food allergies are able to eat.

If you cannot make your food, please do not worry. We will have plenty of goodies!

I hope that you have a wonderful and relaxing holiday spent with family and friends. I will see you in the new year, if not before!

Thursday 10/31 Halloween
Boo! A notice regarding Halloween:
For our Halloween celebration, on October 31st, your child has a choice of clothing for the day.
1.    Wear pajamas all day
2.   Wear regular clothes and change into a costume for the celebration, and then change out when it is finished. NO WEAPONS, MASKS, HAIRSPRAY, OR MAKEUP PLEASE! Save these items for trick-or-treating.

It is your, and your child’s choice, although the fifth grade team recommends choosing option 1, as it is much more fun to wear pajamas all day, rather than a costume for a short period of time!
